Mexico @ Wembley

I watched the Mexico v. England match with lots of frustration. I understand these preparation matches are designed for coaches to test their players and the composition of their teams, but I assume that, just as any other sports, both teams are expecting to beat their rival. Am I right?

As a spectator, I really hate the people saying we shouldn't care about the result because this is just a friendly match, but why? Beyond the physical endurance and precision of the players, don't they need also to set their minds in the wining mood? How does a player get used to win when they have rehearsed under the 'we do not care about the result mind set'?

I can easily imagine Guille Franco (one of Mexico's forwards, not strikers, this game) in front of the goal with no decision to score because nothing is going to happen if he fails. Or, does it? Will Aguirre send him to the bench next game? Will people stop buying products bearing the name of that player because he is not good? I do not care about all that. The only thing I care, as a spectator, and as a Mexican, is that I want my team playing to win, testing or not, rehearsing or not, but to win. Soccer is the most popular sport in Mexico, thousands of millions of dollars are put in that basket every year, and we yet do not play to win?

The Indian from Kashmir is playing as I finnish writing this.
